چکیده

We investigate the three-dimensional O(2) model near the critical point by Monte Carlo simulations and calculate the major universal amplitude ratios of the model. The ratio U0 = A /A is determined directly from the specific heat data at zero magnetic field. The data do not, however, allow to extract an accurate estimate for α. Instead, we establish a strong correlation of U0 with the value of α used in the fit. This numerical α-dependence is given by A/A = 1 − 4.20(5)α + O(α). For the special α-values used in other calculations we find full agreement with the corresponding ratio values, e. g. that of the shuttle experiment with liquid helium. On the critical isochore we obtain the ratio ξ+/ξ T = 0.293(9), and on the critical line the ratio ξ T/ξ c L = 1.957(10) for the amplitudes of the transverse and longitudinal correlation lengths. These two ratios are independent of the used α or ν-values. PACS : 64.60.Cn; 75.40.; 05.50+q

Universal amplitude ratios and functions for the SU(2) finite-temperature phase transition.

Universal functions and amplitude ratios associated with the classes of second order phase transitions are used as additional tests of the prediction that the pure glue, SU(2), nite-temperature, deconnning phase transition is in the universality class of the three-dimensional Ising model. Published gauge theory Monte Carlo data, give values that can be compared with theory and Ising model numer...

A Monte Carlo study of the three-dimensional XY universality class: Universal amplitude ratios

We simulate lattice models in the three-dimensional XY universality class in the low and the high temperature phase. This allows us to compute a number of universal amplitude ratios with unprecedented precision: RΥ = 0.411(2), RB = 2.83(1), R + ξ = 0.3562(10) and R − ξ = 0.850(5). These results can be compared with those obtained from other theoretical methods, such as field theoretic methods o...

High - precision determination of universal amplitude ratios for the q = 3 Potts model in 2 d

Monte Carlo (MC) simulations and series expansion (SE) data for the energy, specific heat, magnetization and susceptibility of the 3-state Potts model on the square lattice are analyzed in the vicinity of the critical point in order to estimate universal combinations of critical amplitudes. We estimate these amplitudes using the correction-to-scaling exponents predicted by conformal field theor...

Model study reservoir flushing

Sediment flushing of reservoirs is an operational technique, whereby previously accumulated sediments in the reservoirs are hydraulically removed by accelerated flow when the bottom desiltingoutlets of the dam are opened. In this research, the process of sediment flushing is simulated by a three dimensional numerical model in which sediment and flow interaction are reflected in the reservoirs. ...

Monte Carlo study of the scaling of universal correlation lengths in three-dimensional O„n... spin models

Using an elaborate set of simulational tools and statistically optimized methods of data analysis, we investigate the scaling behavior of the correlation lengths of three-dimensional classical O(n) spin models. Considering three-dimensional slabs S3S3R, the results over a wide range of n indicate the validity of special scaling relations involving universal amplitude ratios that are analogous t...
